Vermont’s Resilience Shines Through

Jul 31, 2023 | Along the Byway

Roads on the Green Mountain Byway are open!

As you may have seen on the news, Vermont experienced a severe weather event on July 10-11. Some communities were severely impacted by flooding and at the same time, there are many beautiful parts of Vermont that did not suffer any damage.

Major routes have reopened throughout the state. Please continue to refer to the 511 map for the most up-to-date road conditions in areas that were more heavily impacted.

As you confirm your plans to visit Vermont, we do recommend calling ahead to ensure lodging properties, attractions, or recreation destinations are open and accessible. If you’re planning on attending an upcoming event, please check the website or call ahead to see if event details have changed.

There’s a lot of beautiful summer left to enjoy in Vermont, from taking in the views from a mountain peak to heading downtown for a slice of local culture. There are as many ways to enjoy the season as there are paths that travel through the Green Mountains.
