July 4th Celebrations

Jun 24, 2026 | Along the Byway

Vermont offers some of the best small-town, July 4th Parades and Celebrations that you’ll find anywhere in America! Moscow (near Stowe) is famous for paraders marching with boom boxes tuned to a local radio station playing patriotic music. Wherever town on the Green Mountain Byway you happen to be in, you’ll find July 4th festivities.

This year in Jeffersonville, the 10am We the People themed parade will feature Grand Marshals Bill Stritzler (owner of Smugglers’ Notch Resort for 30 years) and Mary Anderson (Cambridge Elementary School Principal for 25 years). The marching band will be Hanaford’s Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps. A Town Fair at Cambridge Elementary School at 11am has 5th Grader MacKenzie Shortsleeves singing the National Anthem, followed by Americana, Blues, and Classic Rock from BLACKWOLF. Food, Community Groups and Games are also part of the activities. That evening at Smugglers’ Notch Resort there will be food trucks, music by A HOUSE ON FIRE, and FIREWORKS at dusk.
