Here in Vermont, we have always said that April showers will bring May flowers, and yes they do… and it brings so much more. Our beloved mud season is here as well as the robins, the hummingbirds, the bears and so many more critters which can be seen along Green Mountain Byway. The rivers are roaring as the ground is thawing and ducks are landing on the ponds again. There is nothing like mud season in Vermont.

There is so much to look forward to as you are planning your summer travels. The Green Mountain Byway takes you through six towns that all feature exciting events, historical sites and so much more. The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail finally be completed at of Memorial Day 2023, all 93 miles from St. Johnsbury to Swanton Vermont so plan your trip to include some biking or walking. On May 27th – there will be Rail Trail Celebration (see the poster above). Whether you want to go electric or straight pedal bikes you can rent them in Morristown, Johnson, and Cambridge. There are many modes of transportation on LVRT and many activities such as the annual dog sled races this past winter in downtown Morrisville.

While you are in the neighborhood stop into the many locally owned breweries and distilleries along the Green Mountain Byway as well as the many farm to table eateries. The choices are endless, and you’ll love the good old Vermont friendliness.
