Waterbury Winterfest, now in its 15th year, is set to take place from January 29 to February 2, 2025. This premier celebration of winter recreation in Waterbury, Vermont, offers a variety of indoor and outdoor events designed to bring together community members and visitors for fun, camaraderie, and a bit of friendly competition. All proceeds from the events and sponsorships support scholarships, grants, and recreational activities in Waterbury throughout the year.
The festival kicks off on Wednesday, January 29, with Bluegrass Night at Pro Pig Brewery from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by the VT Beer Quiz at Blackback Pub from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. On Thursday, January 30, attendees can enjoy a special presentation titled “Waterbury’s Lost Ski Areas” by local historian Brian Lindner at the Waterbury Municipal Building Steele Community Room from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Later that evening, the Wassailing event—a downtown music crawl featuring groups performing at various locations—takes place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, culminating in a grand finale at the American Legion Post at 8:00 PM.
Additional events include an Ice Skating Disco on Saturday, February 1, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Waterbury Ice Center, and a 3×3 Basketball Tournament on Sunday, February 2, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Brookside Primary School Gym.
